History

Turkish Association of Trauma and Emergency Surgery (TATES) was founded in 1995 with the collaboration of Omer Turel M.D. (Professor of Surgery), Cemalettin Ertekin M.D. (Professor of Surgery), Rifat Tokyay M.D. (Professor of Surgery), Korhan Taviloglu M.D., FACS (Professor of Surgery) ,Tayfun Yucel M.D. (Associate Professor of Surgery), Semra Gunay M.D. and M. Emin Guclu M.D. The statutes of the association consisted of 33 items. The legal requirements were fulfilled in 11 November, 1996. Following the preparations for membership, in 22 May, 1997 the first general assembly was performed. Thus, the members of the administrative committee and the auditing committee were elected. Until now the membership is progressively increasing.
