3rd Turkish Regional Congress of TATES

3^rd Turkish Regional Congress of Trauma & Emergency Surgery was held with the collaboration of Turkish Association for trauma & Emergency Surgery (TATES) and Surgical Department of Selcuk University, between October 27-30, 2001. The congress president was Adil Kartal (Professsor of Surgery) and the general secretary was Metin Belviranlı (Professor of Surgery). All over the country 150 participants attended the congress. Pioneers of the field from all over the country, and Demetrios Demetriades from the U.S.A. and Clem W Imrie from the U.K. participated as speakers. During the congress 8 lectures and 3 panels were accomplished. During the sessions joined by foreign guests simultaneous translation facility was available. In terms of social activities, a Mevlana and city tour was organized during the congress. A tour of Cappodocia at the last day of the congress was of great interest to the participants. In addition to these activities, prior to the Gala dinner a “whirling dervishes show” was displayed and it was admired by all.
